U-19 World Field Lacrosse Championships are being held in Coquitlam July 3-12. The website is: www.2008worldlax.com. There is also a U-15 + U-18 field tournament being held there July 8-11 in which we have numerous New West players on both teams playing for the Burnaby Mountain Selects.

NEW WEST PLACES TWO ON PEE WEE TEAM BC
Congratulations to Connor Robinson and Mitchell Stokes for making TEAM BC. The two boys will proudly represent the 'BELLIES' and their province at the Pee Wee Nationals in Whitby, Ontario later this summer.

Congratulations to Kyle Madden and Chris Nasato. for making TEAM BC. The two boys will proudly represent the 'BELLIES' and their province at the Bantam Nationals in Whitby, Ontario later this summer.

PEE WEE A2's WIN GOLD AT NORTH DELTA TOURNAMENT
Our Pee Wee A2 Team, coached by Kevin Ballance and Brandon Goodwin captured gold at the Wayne Patrick Memorial Tournament hosted by North Delta Minor Lacrosse.

The team played an excellent tournament, Laiton Manuel, Josh Lauener, Tommy Robertson and Dalton Lupul all picked up MVP game awards

EQUIPMENT BAGS READY FOR PICK UP AFTER MAY 3RD
If you ordered a new Salmonbellies equipment bag, you can pick it up at Moody Park Arena anytime after May 3rd.

GOALIE CLINICS
We will be offering two goalie clinics this BOX season for our boys and girls. The clinics will be put on by legendary BCLA certified goalie clinician Don "Hoss" Watson. Participants must register by contacting Tony Glavin via email at glavin@fgglawyers.com. An email confirming your registration will be sent out.

Clinic #1 (Novice & Pee Wee):
Tues., April 22, 2008 at Moody Park Arena from 5:30-7:30 pm.

Clinic #2 (Bantam, Midget, Int.):

Shaft information
  • C 1
    Entry level Harrow shaft, the C1 is composed of both graphite and fiberglass, providing a light yet durable feel. A great shaft for all levels of play
  • I Beam (Not recommended for Box or players over 13)
    The first of its kind, the I-Beam features our unique tapered stress-flex point precisely placed within the shaft so as to provide maximum torque power for shot or pass.
  • Box
    Reinforced with an extra forty grams of high-modulus graphite, the Box shaft is built to take punishment and last.
  • Monster
    Similar to the heavier box shaft, but with another forty grams of hard-hitting graphite, for the toughest player.

BANTAM B’s WIN PROVINCIAL GOLD!
The New Westminster Bantam B team won the Gold Medal at the Provincial Championships in Prince George. New Westminster defeated Saanich 8-2 in the gold medal matchup. They also finished first in league play over top of 35 Lower Mainland teams.
